Let’s talk about one of those big questions that can keep you up at night:
“What does God want me to do with my life?”Or maybe more specifically:“What job should I take? Should I start something new? Am I doing the right thing?”
If you've ever felt stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed about your career or calling, you're not alone. It's easy to want a crystal-clear sign from heaven—a booming voice saying, "This is it!" But more often, God's direction comes through stillness, small steps, and daily faith.
First Things First: God Cares About This
It’s easy to think that God only cares about “spiritual stuff,” but the truth is—He cares about you. Your work, your gifts, your passions, and even your paycheck all matter to Him.
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."—Proverbs 16:3
God isn’t waiting for you to pick the one perfect job or else you’ve “missed your calling.” Instead, He walks with you through the choices, guiding you as you move in faith and obedience.
Signs You’re Headed in the Right Direction
When you’re wondering if a path is from God, here are some things to ask yourself:
Does this job or direction align with my values and what Scripture teaches? God will never call you to do something that contradicts His Word.
Do I feel peace, even if I’m nervous? Fear is normal with new steps, but deep down, is there peace when you pray?
Does it use my God-given gifts? Your talents, passions, and natural interests were woven into you for a reason.
Have I asked trusted believers for their wisdom? Sometimes God's answer comes through wise counsel.
“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”—Proverbs 15:22
What If I Don’t Know My Gifts Yet?
That’s okay. You don’t have to figure it all out today. Sometimes you discover your calling by doing. Try new things. Volunteer. Explore hobbies. Take small steps. Pay attention to what energizes you and what feels meaningful.
And ask God:“Lord, show me what You’ve put in me. Help me see what You see.”
Be Faithful Where You Are
Maybe you’re not in your dream job right now. Maybe you’re at home raising babies, or working long hours just to make ends meet. That doesn't mean you're off track.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord..."—Colossians 3:23
Your current job may not be your forever job—but God can still use it to shape you, teach you, provide for you, and prepare you.
When You Need Direction, Do This:
Pray boldly. Ask God for wisdom (James 1:5 promises He’ll give it).
Pay attention. What doors are opening? What passions won’t go away? What opportunities feel “lit up” with peace? Does the same thing keep crossing your path as if a sign? What seems to align with your skillset, your beliefs, and Gods word?
Be willing to move. Sometimes we’re waiting for God to show up, and He’s waiting for us to take a step.
Trust Him with the timing. Direction doesn’t always come in a day. But He’s never late.
You're Not Failing If You're Unsure
We all have seasons where things don’t make sense. You’re not failing—you're growing. You're seeking Him, and that’s what matters most.
Keep bringing your questions to God. Keep your heart open. He will guide you.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."—Psalm 119:105
Even if you can’t see the whole road yet, He’ll give you just enough light for the next step.
And sometimes—that’s all you need.
You know how some things just keep coming back around—like a little nudge from above? That’s what Norwex has been for me.
I was always the girl rearranging her bedroom just for fun, scrubbing every surface until it sparkled, and making my space feel like a little sanctuary. As I grew older, I found so much joy in making our house a home—creating comfort, peace, and a place that felt safe for the people I love most.
After walking through cancer, I started paying closer attention to everything—what I put on my skin, what I cleaned our home with, and what I was exposing my body and my family to every single day. I couldn’t un-know what I had learned about harmful chemicals. I had to do better. For my health. For my kids. For our future.
One day I learned about Norwex. It's not “just a product”, it started feeling like a calling.
I’ve always cared deeply about the environment—about protecting the beauty God gave us, from the trees and rivers to the tiniest wild creatures. It’s all His handiwork. And Norwex aligns with that so completely. Less waste. Safer air. Gentler choices. They help us preserve what He created while keeping our homes healthier and simpler.
It’s funny, because I let this opportunity go more than once. Life gets busy, doubts creep in, the enemy tries to lead you in every other way outside of your calling… but Norwex kept finding its way back to me. Gently. Persistently. And eventually, I recognized the whisper of alignment.
“Stick with it. Do it. Fail forward. I'm with you.”
Maybe you’ve heard those quiet nudges too—God’s way of gently guiding you to something that aligns with who you are, what you value, and the gifts He’s given you. This career feels like that for me. It’s a way to serve others, help others, protect what matters, and use my skills for good. And it lets me live out my values every single day.
So friend, I ask you: What are your whispers? What keeps coming back around for you? Maybe it’s time to lean in and listen.
You never know where God might be leading you.
With prayers as you journey,
XO, Marie
